It's been a crazy year and I am slowly getting back on track with all of my creative little world. I have a Facebook fan page, Bella Bohemia Photography , that I keep up on way better than my blog here. So feel free to go on over there to see what's new if you have the time. :) I've had a few new shoots but only when I have had the actual time. So that has been a nice break from everyday living. Hopefully I can do a little more as time goes by. Thanks for stopping by!

Recently I have had to take a break from building my photography portfolio...I was also forced to take hard look at where I was in my life due to a series of many events. One major factor was the unfortunate theft of my computer!! All of my programs for photo editing like, lightroom, illustrator, photoshop, and so on...GONE!! Made me sick to my stomach!! Especially since I am in NO position to buy a new one by any means. So that is why I couldn't do anymore photo shoots or take on any new clients. :( UGGGG!!!
Also, and sadly, through all of my current trials, I discovered what kind of photographer I AM NOT! That is for certain! I am not a high pressure environment type of person, therefore I should NOT do high pressured events for photography as well. It's just too risky for a newbie like me to take on at this time and I should have known better. But I didn't listen to my gut instinct....and along with that comes deep regret on one side, and hard feelings on the other. I will never do that again and my sincerest apologies to those who suffered at my hand due to my own follies within my life...I promise, I was doing everything I could to be prepared. But sometimes things come at you from out of left field that blindsides you, and you really have no control at that point accept to try and swim with the current to survive. I finally hit the wall, and I am still picking up the pieces. I'm just sorry for those who had to ride that wave with me....Lesson learned, and now I'm moving forward. In celebration of moving forward, I have now decided to use ALL of my artistic skills at once! I am working to create a fun, unique online store with all kinds of handcrafted, upcycled, new, used, unique, funky, "you name it", goodies I can come up with. I have a knack for finding good deals on clothing and accessories, and I am also crafty. Since I love fashion, decorating, visual merchandising, and photography, I figured I could come up with a boutique that offers something for everyone with bohemian spirit such as my own. It's going to be fun, and I am looking forward to it. I'll be sure to keep you posted.... Let's just start with, "Yes, I am a SLACKER when it comes to blogging." :) THERE, I said it! Now that I admitted my fault we can move on. HA! ;) SOOOO....my little journey here has been a fun and interesting one. I have since shot my first engagement, boudior, Quinceañera, soon a home birth and wedding! (It will be my ONLY wedding thus far). I at least want to try almost every thing at least once. Just to see what flavors I like and don't like. So far all have been fabulous but some are definitely more challenging than others. But my most favorite of favorites is shooting "behind the scenes" of film sets...So many interesting things to shoot. OH! And I will also be shooting my first round of senior photos in the next couple of weeks. It's pretty exciting AND nerve racking all at the same time. Since this is still all so very new to me, and I'm not so good at being vulnerable when it comes to my art, accepting the risk of criticism (especially when the exchange of $$ is involved) I wig out even more inside. Seriously, when I go to show people the photos I took of them, I sweat. Not just a little, but a TON! I'm sure with time that will fade. I know, silly, but it's the truth if the truth be told. :) In other news.... I also have since received a new Lens Baby Edge 80 Pro for my birthday this past May. My hubby was so sweet as to give one to me to help me further my creative outlet. It's one of my favorite lenses to work with. I'm still learning, but I'm improving. I enjoy using it every chance I get!! Thanks HUSBAND O'MINE!! Well, that is it for now. I'm off to finish laundry....Oh the glamorous life a of an amateur photographer! ;) Hope you are all enjoying your summer. I've gone and done it....I have been asked to shoot my first engagement photos!! AND their wedding...I am actually not going to market myself as a wedding photographer but these guys are gonna have an AWESOME wedding and I am so excited to shoot it! The wedding isn't until September.....but I can't wait to do it! YIKES!!
Last week a friend of mine asked me if I could do a boudoir shoot with her. I said of course! I had never done one before so I was happy to get the practice in for my portfolio. Here are a few of the photos! It was fun to help a fellow "Mama of Children" feel like a ROCK STAR!!!
I recently given the opportunity to do my very first "newborn" shoot!! That, and I got my "baby fix"!! Loved it! ;) Awe....sweet babies!
So today I decided to do a shoot using a ton of props. When I was 11, my dad built this little doll house for me for Christmas. He modeled it after my grandmother's house in Adrian, Michigan. Six years ago I called to tell my dad that I had just given birth to our 3rd daughter (pictured). Sadly it was a bitter sweet moment, because he was just about to call me that very same day to tell me my grandma had passed away only 3 hours previous to my daughters birth!! It was really hard to know how to feel that day :( Thankfully, I was blessed to inherit a few things from my grandma later that year. I was given a whole cedar chest full of treasures and amongst those items were all of these precious little aprons. (I believe they were hers as a little girl) I just adore them but never knew what I would use them for until now. As some of you may not know, I am known for my love affair with nostalgia! And today, I wanted to share some of that nostalgia with you....I miss you Grandma...This shoot is dedicated to you....
Here are just a few photos from a shoot I did over the past few days... They are for a friend who makes these fabulous masks, fans, and other fantastic items. Look for her on shop, Ivyndell, on Esty.
I'm SO excited for this week! Going to get to do a photo shoot with a friend and we are going to let the creativity flow! I will for sure to post some "sneak peek" photos onto by Instagram and Facebook pages, so be sure to be on the look out for those updates! ;)

A Gypsy's Tale...
Bohemianism is the practice of an unconventional lifestyle, often in the company of like-minded people, with few permanent ties, involving musical, artistic, or literary pursuits. In this context, Bohemians may be wanderers, adventurers, or vagabond. Archives
